Project Spotlight: Kenwood Estates Kitchen Transformation

A kitchen should be more than just a place to cook—it should be the heart of the home, where functionality meets beauty. At our Kenwood Estates project, we reimagined a once-cramped kitchen into a spacious, welcoming gathering space designed for both practicality and style.

Reimagining the Layout

The original kitchen was tucked into a small corner, limiting its usability and connection to the rest of the home. Our first priority was to create a more open, expansive space. We reoriented the kitchen layout around a large central island, providing ample workspace and a natural hub for family and guests to gather. To further streamline the flow, we closed off one of the backyard access points, allowing us to add a beautiful window above the sink that floods the room with natural light.

Aesthetic Choices: Bright and Coastal

To keep the space feeling airy and fresh, we selected classic white cabinetry as the foundation. For contrast and a subtle nod to coastal influences, we introduced a deep blue island, anchoring the space with warmth and depth. Rope-accented pendant lights further enhance the relaxed, coastal aesthetic, bringing in texture and visual interest.

The Details That Matter

A well-designed kitchen is all about the details. We worked closely with our clients to select the perfect hardware—an understated yet impactful element that ties everything together. To ensure ultimate comfort and usability, we made a custom adjustment to the countertop height, tailoring it to our clients’ specific needs for an ergonomic fit.

Smart Storage and Functionality

No kitchen renovation is complete without smart storage solutions. We built out a separate pantry, providing a dedicated space for food storage and baking prep. This addition keeps the kitchen uncluttered while giving our clients a functional and organized area for all their cooking essentials.

The Finishing Touches

The transformation wouldn’t be complete without the layered elements that bring warmth and personality to the space. We styled the kitchen with carefully chosen accessories, ensuring a balance of functionality and aesthetic appeal. Custom swivel counter stools were added for both comfort and versatility, while an inviting breakfast nook just to the left of the kitchen provides the perfect spot for casual meals and morning coffee.
